No US Visa-Free Regime in Sight for Bulgaria

There is still no specific deadline by which the USA will introduce a visa-free regime with Bulgaria, stated American ambassador to Bulgaria James Warlick.

Speaking in an interview for Darik Radio Saturday, Warlick said that nevertheless there will be a lighter procedure to be introduced on Wednesday.

"The new procedure will be called Easy Visas. This is of interest for Bulgaria for it will make obtaining a US visa easier for them and thus encourage their travel to America," said the ambassador.

According to Warlick, it is not to be doubted that "sooner or later" the USA is to introduce a visa-free regime for Bulgaria, but that the exact date cannot be still determine.

"I hope this decision will be taken as soon as possible," added the US ambassador.
